The story behind the founding of Rainpharma

RainPharma was founded in 2010 by Dominique, after a personal search for his own truth. As a child, his dream was to have a shop selling all kinds of fine products. From a simple cardboard box, he crafted his own first imaginary shop with his self-made products on a sleek shelf. A small slot in the cardboard served as a cash register. His first real pennies were immediately tested in his imaginary shop and brother Benne and sister Barbara eagerly shopped along. On every Leuven terrace with dad Piet and mum Astrid, he confidently ordered his Perrier. Even though the bubbles were far too big for the little boy, he still chose the nicest bottle.

Later, as a sociology student, he often reached for the pen for a noble cause, shunned no stage for a debate and, above all, had a lot of fun with his - still - best friends. He also immediately took two expensive lessons with him into his later life: unhealthy food is pernicious (for his energy level) and hard work pays off (like being a waiter in Café Leffe until the late hours). Once graduated, his insights and friendships travel with him into the future. For the first time, he looks for good food supplements - quite hard to find in Belgium - and orders them for his own use far beyond the borders. Until the age of 30, he continued to live in student dorms, co-housing avant la lettre, and there was no question of really travelling, he had something else in mind...

A brief two-week career as a researcher for Paul Jambers taught him that he liked working, but not within office hours. Paul much later became a friend of the house, but no, not his manager. Even his first mini-advertising agency for other brands with a Canon and a printer, while fun, did not really prove to be his mission. For a while, Dominique went all out in his father's physiotherapy practice. That transformed into six wellness centres spread across Flanders and was recommended in many magazines. But he wanted something different. Something more relevant. For the wellness centres, he couldn't find a brand or product that met his personal needs. That had to be found (out). And if it's good for him, it should also be good for everyone.

And so it happened... in 2010, he founded RainPharma. The raindrops - so necessary for a lush nature - symbolically became 4 round spheres. No one could have imagined in 2010 that this small beginning would grow into the wonderful brand that so many people can enjoy every day.
