healthy skin, from the inside out
The inside of your body is like a mirror for the outside; when you take good care of your insides, it shows on the outside. Healthy and varied nutrition, along with drinking plenty of water, is essential. This keeps your skin hydrated and provides it with the necessary vitamins, minerals, and proteins to glow.
Below are 4 building blocks for a beautiful, radiant skin.
vitamin A.
Vitamin A contributes to maintaining a beautiful, healthy skin. The most well-known form of vitamin A is retinol, which is found in many skincare and beauty products that promise to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. However, it can be difficult for your skin to absorb and utilize vitamin A. Therefore, it is more effective to obtain vitamin A through diet or dietary supplements for achieving healthy skin.
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin and is found in animal products such as meat, fish, and dairy products. In addition to vitamin A, there is also provitamin A or beta-carotene, a substance that your body can convert into the usable form, vitamin A. Provitamin A or beta-carotene is found in many fruits and vegetables.
-
Sources of Vitamin A: eggs, various types of cheese, butter, tuna, liver, eel, …
-
Sources of Beta-Carotene: carrots, pumpkin, sweet potato, kale, spinach, …
Tip: Vitamin A is found in both the multivitamin Daily Boost and the antioxidant supplement High Tech Aox.
water.
You probably already know that drinking water is important. But your skin also benefits from drinking water. Water keeps your skin hydrated and supple, and it helps transport nutrients to your cells while removing waste that can cause impurities in the skin. It is recommended to drink 1.5 to 2 liters of water per day, which is about 6 to 8 large glasses.
Tip: If you find it difficult to drink enough water, try alternating with tea or sparkling water, or add a scoop of one of our Fresh Shakes to 1.5 liters of water to give it a refreshing flavor.
vitamin C.
Vitamin C is also an important vitamin for your skin. Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen in our bodies and, consequently, to the maintenance of healthy, supple skin. Collagen is a protein responsible for the firmness and elasticity of our skin. Our own collagen production decreases from the age of 25, so it's especially important to stimulate its production with the help of vitamin C.
Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin found in many fruits and vegetables.
-
Sources of Vitamin C: bell peppers, blackcurrants, Brussels sprouts, kale, kiwi, strawberries, red cabbage, spinach, oranges, …
Tip: Vitamin C is found in high doses in Super C Boost and in our collagen supplement, Anti.aging.powder.
protein.
A fourth key ingredient for your skin is protein. Proteins are the building blocks of almost everything in our body. Our skin, our largest organ, is also made up of proteins. Therefore, if you want to have beautiful, healthy, and firm skin, it is important to consume enough protein daily. It is recommended to take in about 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight each day. For example, if you weigh 60 kg, you should aim for about 60 grams of protein per day.

Proteins can be found in meat, fish, and eggs, but also in soy products, legumes—such as peas—and nuts.
